Learn the Writing Rules

There are certain things we need to learn before we can be effective in any certain area.

To be an artist we need to learn all about colors before we should use them...

Before we can ride a bike, we must learn the laws of gravity...

Before we can write love letters to that hot guy or girl in phys-ed, we must be skilled in the art of alphabetotum...

And before we talk to others we need to learn how to be charming...and dress well, and not offend... in any way...ever. (I think they call this manners or etiquator?)

The same goes for writing. And Dwight, I think, explains it best.




So, I think it goes without saying that if you want to break the rules of writing, you better know how to kill a bear, half asleep, with only a pillow as a weapon.

Sometimes this takes years.
